Life imitating art

There was almost no time for sewing this week, my friends. Sometimes that's how it is. And now I'm a couple hundred miles from home, deep in a Virginia forest.

We took a guided gorge hike this afternoon. Our guide said:

"Check out this plant. Most plants grow their leaves off of their stems, right? Not this one -- it grows its stem through small holes in its leaves. It's called a stitch-leaf plant."

Cool, right?
